Ms. Adventure, a.k.a. comedian Rachel Reenstra, is Animal Planet’s first female adventurer. But she’s not your typical Jungle Jane. Rachel is a city girl on a quest to get insight into human relationships by learning about relationships in the animal world. What can dolphins teach us about the importance of playing together? And what can women learn about sisterhood from a herd of elephants? Rachel travels around the world introduce viewers to some amazing animals and reveals that we’re not all that different from our animal counterparts. Even in the wilderness, the rules of various relationships are remarkably familiar. When courting, penguin males give penguin females big rocks. The bigger the rock, the more likely she is to become his mate. Sound familiar? If they had fingers, they’d probably wear theirs on rings too.

In every show, Rachel takes a look at one of her relationships, with her family, her friends, or even her blind date. Then, to understand more about what’s really going on, she takes off to the wilderness to get up close to animals, whose behavior is strangely familiar. So while Rachel’s date didn’t display fancy feathers or large horns to prove his worth as a potential mate, he did talk about his car and show off his new cell-phone. To gain more insights, Rachel visits Australia, Africa, South America, and anywhere the adventure takes her.
