Overview

In October 2006, the National Cable & Telecommunications Association (NCTA) moved its headquarters to Capitol Hill. As part of the move, NCTA launched the “Cable Multimedia Center” which provides the industry with an opportunity to educate public policy makers and opinion leaders under the banner of “cable provides”.

The center has multiple uses and can be made available to NCTA’s member companies based on schedule availability. The Cable Multimedia Center includes:

THEATER
A high-definition theater comprised of two stories with multi-format video, 35 mm and 70 mm film capabilities. The theater’s cinema audio surround sound system provided by Dolby® Laboratories is THX® certified and soon will be upgraded to handle 3D content. The theater serves as one of Washington, DC’s most technically advanced locations for premieres and other screening events.

Small Studio
In the front of the theater is a small video studio with basic editing capabilities. Public Service Announcements (PSAs) and other short form video can be filmed with HD cameras and edited on-site.
Webcasting
The theater is affixed with several mounted cameras, providing the ability for web streaming, video with audio simulcasts and general filming capabilities.

cableINNOVATES TECHNOLOGY EXHIBIT
The cableINNOVATES Technology exhibit is a 1,000 square-foot exhibit that showcases advanced technology and programming services that cable offers, and includes displays highlighting cable’s commitment to education and parental control technology. Designed and decorated in partnership with Scripps Networks as rooms within a typical home, the exhibit includes several of LG Electronics’ digital televisions, as well as content distributed throughout the display via wireless and wired networks. A variety of new services and industry technology initiatives will be featured and rotated into cableINNOVATES to reflect the most current technology that cable provides. A video wall features technologies currently being tested for market. Member companies who wish to exhibit products, please refer to the technology exhibit specification sheet. Demonstrations are available.

VIDEO & PRINT OPPORTUNITIES
The Association’s facilities include a two-story staircase with both print posters and video display monitors. Member companies are encouraged to submit their branded programming or other corporate content for consideration. See the specification requirements for additional details.

MEETING & RECEPTION ROOMS
The boardroom includes audio teleconferencing, computer presentations, various video formats along with two supporting high-definition projectors and one 56” plasma display. The space is used to accommodate NCTA’s board of director meetings, it’s Political Action Committee (PAC) events and other related reception or meal functions. The anteroom, located in the Theater lobby, is suitable for receptions or more intimate private meetings.

GREEN ROOM
A green room is located behind the theater and is available for talent and other VIPs.
